HE Space has joined forces with CS Group to lead the engineering and digital space market in Europe and to provide highly skilled consulting.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of the Thermal team, you will support the end-to-end responsibility for product developments, with your role being a mix of project management support, thermal technical issues and thermal modelling. Thus, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Performing thermal analyses and thermal tests on satellites, payloads, instruments, mechanisms, and other space equipment;
- Performing thermal analyses for satellites, payloads, instruments and mechanisms;
- Performing plausibility checks and manual calculations to validate the analysis results;
- Supporting the development of the thermal control system, its subsystems and components;
- Simulating and monitoring thermal tests, such as thermal vacuum and thermal balance tests of satellites and their components;
- Knowledge of cost management (e.g. budget, risk and schedule) for thermal activities;
- Application of SYSTEMA/ThermicaDesign software packages and development of thermal hardware (heat pipes, thermal straps, thermal switches);
- Documentation of all activities, mathematical models and analysis and test results.
Personal Requirements
Skills & Experience
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
- Knowledge of design and definition of thermal hardware (Heat Pipes, Thermal Straps, Thermal Switches, Thermal Diodes, Phase Change Materials, etc.);
- Further qualifications and knowledge of conductive and radiative heat transfer processes;
- Understanding of orbital mechanics and the solar system;
- Understanding of thermal material properties;
- Willingness to travel regularly;
- IT knowledge in the use of SYSTEMA/Thermica and/or ESATAN-TMS is an advantage;
- Knowledge of CFD tools for thermal analysis is an advantage;
- Knowledge of the PYTHON programming language is advantageous;
- Knowledge in the field of cryogenics is an advantage;
- Knowledge in the field of optics is an advantage;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German or another European language will be considered an advantage.
