Junior Full Stack Developer Engineer - Applied Research Collaborator
We offer you a unique opportunity to work between academia, industry, and startups in the field of modernising web applications.
Attached to the ICT department, you will be integrated into the IICT institute (http://iict.heig-vd.ch/). You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Software Engineering group, within a team of passionate professors and scientists. This group enjoys a leading visibility on the Swiss and international scenes and is active in applied research projects in interaction with cutting-edge industries in the field. You will directly assist the responsible professors with the following tasks:
MAIN TASKS
- Participate in applied research and development (R&D) work for the IICT institute, notably in the field of full stack web application development in Java and modernisation of J2EE applications. - Participate in teaching tasks of the department: assisting with course preparation, supervision, and preparation of practical work. - Participate in the management and maintenance of the research entity’s infrastructure. - Participate in administrative management and any other activities necessary for the smooth running of the department and the research entity.
DESIRED PROFILE
- Degree from a University of Applied Sciences or equivalent qualification - Good knowledge of full stack web development - Proficiency in Java and SQL - Knowledge of Angular front-end, Spring framework, and JakartaEE/J2EE technologies is a plus. - Excellent communication skills and interpersonal sense - Organisational skills and attention to detail, client and result-oriented - Ability to work with external partners - Autonomy, structured work, and good analytical skills - Proficiency in English, in addition to French.
Work rate : 80 – 100%
Start date : 1.09.2026 or to be agreed
