The role

Are you ready to take a new opportunity in our Global Payments team? The Global Payments team operates at HelloFresh group level and is responsible for the entire Payments domain in all business lines: from payment processing around our subscription model working with leading global payment providers, to ensuring customers are able to pay seamlessly with their preferred payment method and managing customer profitability through payment initiatives impacting retention.

As the Associate Director Business Development in the Global Payments team at HelloFresh, you look across the entire domain to solve our hardest problems as you have a holistic understanding of the global Payments and Fintech market, follow trends and customer preferences. You support market and customer research and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Product Management, Operations, Design, Market Teams as well as external global and local Payment Providers.

What you’ll do

  1. Understand Local and Global Market Needs: Develop a deep understanding of local and global market conditions, customer expectations, and competitive environments. Use these insights to drive strategic decisions for the global payment products and platform.
  2. Strategy Development: Lead the development of long-term payment strategies for all HelloFresh markets and brands. Together with Product Management translate these strategies into actionable initiatives and projects.
  3. Manage 3rd Party Partnerships: Evaluate and manage existing 3rd party partnerships within payments & fraud domains, assess new 3rd party partnerships from a long term strategy perspective and look for opportunities for new partnerships with the main focus to drive seamless customer experiences and business success.
  4. Support Implementation and Go-to-Market Activities: Drive alignment across teams and stakeholders to support the implementation of our various payment products on a market level. Support high-priority initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring they meet market-specific needs.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including top-level executives, to present findings, propose strategies, and explain business impact.

What you’ll bring

  1. Extensive Experience: You have 8+ years of experience in Consulting, E-commerce, FinTech, or a similar field, with a strong focus on Strategy, Business Development and Provider Management. Payments Domain expertise is a strong plus.
  2. Strategic & Analytical Skills: You have a proven ability to develop strategic initiatives and present them to senior management. Your analytical skills allow you to solve complex problems with innovative and high-quality solutions. You are able to analyse data sets and reports yourself and can build strategic recommendations based on your findings.
  3. Local Market & Competitor Expertise: You bring extensive expertise in understanding the local consumers, competitive landscape, and market dynamics in Europe, North America and Australia/New Zealand. You understand the consumer payments landscape in this region and have worked with payment providers acting in these regions already.
  4. A commercial and partnerships mindset: Develop business relationships with internal senior leaders and external partners such as third party vendors to improve performance and business success.
