About the role

The Associate Director of Governance & EHS will support the development and implementation of environmental and governance frameworks across our global distribution network. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will provide strategic guidance and operational support to site teams in multiple countries, ensuring compliance with EHS standards and governance expectations.

You will oversee a network of EHS and governance leads within our Distribution Centres, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and serve as a liaison between site operations and central leadership.

What you’ll do

• Implement EHS strategic objectives across regional sites, collaborating with stakeholders and EHS leads to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure consistent application of operational governance practices, including internal controls, risk management, and health & safety standards.
• Assist site teams in complying with local and international EHS regulations.
• Promote the rollout of EHS programs aligned with HelloFresh global standards.
• Manage EHS leads at distribution centres, providing coaching, development, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate audits, monitor corrective actions, and leverage data for continuous improvement.
• Act as a bridge between site operations and senior leadership on KPIs, regulatory updates, and best practices in EHS and governance.
• Lead or support projects aimed at reducing environmental impact, enhancing workplace safety, and strengthening governance.

What you’ll bring

• At least 8 years of experience in EHS, governance, or operations within complex, multi-site environments such as logistics, manufacturing, or FMCG.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and audit processes.
• Experience managing cross-regional teams or direct reports.
• Strong influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills across diverse cultures and organizations.
• Data-driven approach with the ability to track KPIs and implement improvements.
• A practical, hands-on mindset combined with strategic thinking.
