Job description:
We are looking for an internationally outstanding scientist with excellent research published in leading international scientific journals and conferences in the field of Sustainability in Business and Economics . Experience in one or more of the following areas is expected:
- Decision support regarding the transformation of technological systems towards enhanced sustainability,
- Sustainable production, energy and construction management,
- Sustainability aspects in decisions for the design and operation of future production, logistics and energy systems,
- Circular economy,
- Sustainable urban development.
Your participation in large-scale research activities in the Helmholtz research program Energy System Design is expected.
You will strengthen the teaching of the KIT-Department of Economics and Management in the areas of sustainable production and energy economics, for example with teaching activities in sustainability management, circular economy, and decision-support methods such as Life-Cycle Assessment. We expect your contribution to teaching in German and English in the study programs Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Systems, Digital Economics, and Mathematics in Business and Economics – also in the introductory courses.
The willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, the participation in academic self-governance, and the ability to acquire third-party funding is required. Furthermore, commitment to the transfer of research results to the economy, society, and entrepreneurial activities is desired. The professorship is expected to contribute to the collegial management of the Institute for Industrial Production (IIP).
You will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 9 hours per week per semester.
