Talents Community - Technician (m/f/d) at HIPOLE Jena

Reference no.: HI 2025/11

Achieving climate neutrality within the next 20 years necessitates an innovation boost for the development of highly efficient, scalable, low-cost, and sustainably produced energy technologies. Polymer materials play a central role in this process.HIPOLE deeply integrates and expands world-class expertise in polymer chemistry, materials science, high-throughput experimentation and artificial intelligence with complementary expertise in inorganic/hybrid materials, scalable devices, and advanced characterization.
You have the chance to support our young Helmholtz Institute as a technician (m/f/d)with your ideas and expertise. Your responsibilities include the assembly and characterization of polymer-based batteries (such as polymer redox-flow batteries or printable thin-film batteries), using our institute’s state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technologies.
For more information, please visit: Homepage – HIPOLE Jena .

  • Processing of battery materials (e.g., preparation of electrodes) as well as assembly of various battery cell types and systems (e.g., coin cells, Swagelok cells, pouch cells, redox-flow cells)
  • Physical and electrochemical characterization of battery materials and cells, e.g., via impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and charge/discharge experiments
  • Responsibility for support and maintenance of laboratory equipment and technical devices
  • Contribution to method development for characterization
  • Support in the procurement and setup of equipment, including consumables
  • Responsibility for general order and cleanliness in the laboratory

Your Profile

  • Completed vocational training as a technical assistant (CTA/PTA) or a comparable professional qualification
  • Proven experience in the assembly and characterization of battery cells
