Senior System Engineer – Product Security, Crypto and Cyber in Dortmund

Overview

In this role you will define and govern the security architecture for Helsing’s CA-1 platform, spanning hardware and software design to regulatory compliance. You will craft the aircraft-level security concept, manage intra- and inter-vehicle communications security, and lead platform cryptographic management. You will engage with customers and national authorities to demonstrate Helsing’s security engineering capability. This position combines systems rigor with deep cryptography and cyber expertise to deliver mission-critical security on a high-profile defence programme.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Guide hardware and software teams on security requirements and architectural decisions, ensuring compliance with NATO and national standards
• Own the aircraft-level security concept and maintain it as the authoritative reference across the programme
• Define and implement repeatable, auditable security design processes scalable to the programme
• Create and maintain compliance artefacts for national/NATO authorities to demonstrate Helsing’s security posture
• Design security architecture for intra- and inter-vehicle communications across on-board and off-board interfaces
• Develop the design concept for aircraft-level security functions (erase and zeroise) for operational integrity
• Conduct vulnerability analysis and adversarial testing, translating findings into mitigations
• Define the platform cryptographic management concept, including key management lifecycle
