Overview
As a Liability underwriting expert, you will shape group-wide standards and govern an international underwriting framework. You will act as a key technical authority on complex liability risks and support decisions beyond local levels. The role blends strategy, portfolio analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitable growth. You’ll lead knowledge sharing, training, and representation in industry forums to advance our liability expertise. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Shape and advance Group-wide Liability underwriting standards, policy wordings, clauses, and best-practice approaches across European units
- Establish a consistent underwriting framework with governance, reporting, and decision-making processes
- Serve as a senior expert for complex Liability risks, guiding underwriting decisions beyond local authority levels
- Contribute to profitable growth through local business cases, market strategies, portfolio analytics, pricing methodologies, and performance monitoring
- Enhance cross-group collaboration by linking Local Units, Claims, Reinsurance, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, and other specialists
- Recruit, onboard, and lead one FTE within the Liability CoE after its establishment
- Develop Liability expertise via internal knowledge sharing and tailored training
- Represent Helvetia in national and international Liability insurance forums, associations, conferences, and industry groups
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Extensive Liability underwriting expertise across product development, pricing, underwriting, claims, portfolio management, and reinsurance fundamentals
- Strong technical knowledge of Corporate Liability Insurance, including General Liability, Product Liability, Professional Indemnity, Financial Lines, and/or Specialty Liability
- Proven Upper Mid-Market and Corporate experience, ideally international or cross-border
- Strategic mindset with ability to develop and implement initiatives for profitable growth
- Strong analytics and portfolio management skills with data-driven judgment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management, capable of influencing across countries and units
- Passion for Liability Insurance, technical excellence, and international collaboration; fluent English; German or other European languages are a plus
