What you\’ll do

  • Solve complex business problems with data, use data scientific tools to find solutions for challenges in the realm of both big and small data and take pride in delivering insight and value from data to the organization
  • Be part of a team of data scientists embedded in our Data Science Center of Excellence and advance the team with your expertise and extend and deepen your knowledge by strong collaboration within the team and within cross-functional teams
  • Work in close collaboration with our Data Science Engineering team using agile methods to deliver high quality data products at a fast pace
  • Actively participate in cross-functional project teams in the execution of our data & analytics strategy and be passionate about exploring emerging technologies and leveraging their full potential
  • Establish yourself as a Data Science ambassador across business units and functions – Our passion is to create high impact and value through data & analytics

What makes you a good fit

  • Master\’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., physics, mathematics, bioinformatics, (computer) science, computational finance); PhD is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a data science or advanced analytics environment in industry; experience in the chemical and consumer goods industry is a plus
  • Strong technical background with excellent coding skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R), experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., SQL, Spark), cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure tool stack), and the use of collaboration technologies (e.g., version control, Scrum/Kanban boards, MLOps)
  • Extensive experience in data preparation, modeling, analysis, and visualization, with expert-level hands-on knowledge in at least one data science area such as time-series analysis, supervised/unsupervised machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, or optimization
  • Strong business acumen and ability to closely collaborate with non-technical teams, with the capacity to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data science tasks combined with excellent skills in communicating results through data storytelling and visualization to a non-technical audience
  • Fluency in English required; German language skills are a plus
