HPE Networking Presales Consultant - your role:
- Partner with sales colleagues to provide technical leadership for new and existing opportunities with telecommunications carriers, service providers, cloud operators, and enterprise customers with strategic routing infrastructure requirements in Germany.
- Translate customer business priorities and network transformation plans into compelling HPE Networking solution architectures and sales campaigns across service provider and enterprise routing environments.
- Build trusted relationships with customer CTO organizations, network architects, engineering teams, operations teams, and technical decision-makers across service provider and enterprise accounts.
- Design and position solutions for service provider routing and enterprise routing infrastructure.
- Lead technical discovery, architecture workshops, whiteboard sessions, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, and tenders.
- Develop competitive positioning and clearly articulate technical differentiation, operational value, scalability, resiliency, and investment protection.
- Collaborate with HPE Networking specialists, Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, channel partners, and system integrators, while representing HPE Networking at relevant customer and industry forums in Germany.

Skills, Expertise, Attitude and Education
- A degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to structure and solve complex technical customer challenges.
- Several years of experience in presales, solution architecture, technical consulting, or network engineering within a telecommunications, service provider, or enterprise routing environment.
- Strong knowledge of routing technologies and architectures, including IP routing, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, traffic engineering, Enterprise WAN Edge, private WAN, DCI, and high-availability network design.
- Motivation to drive business success, shape strategic opportunities, and compete and win in complex sales cycles.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage both technical specialists and executive stakeholders.
- The ability to explain complex architectures and technologies clearly to diverse audiences and connect them to measurable customer outcomes.
- The ability to deliver sales presentations, facilitate architecture workshops, lead whiteboard design sessions, and conduct product demonstrations, seminars, and proof-of-concepts.
- The ability to work independently, remotely, and collaboratively across account teams, specialists, partners, and international organizations.
- Fluency in German and English, together with willingness to travel.
Desirable requirements or potential to acquire:
- Experience with routing, switching and security technologies, particularly MX, PTX, ACX, QFX, SRX, and network management, automation or AIOps solutions.
- Knowledge of service provider and enterprise architectures such as broadband edge, mobile backhaul and transport, internet peering, Enterprise WAN Edge, private WAN, data center interconnect, cloud connectivity, and security services.
- Knowledge of modern data center architectures, high-performance computing environments, and networking requirements for AI clusters.
- Understanding of network automation and programmability using APIs, Python, Ansible, NETCONF/YANG, model-driven telemetry, and modern NetOps practices.
- Experience with German carrier and enterprise procurement processes, complex tenders, partners and system integrators, as well as relevant industry forums, is an advantage.
