Group Lead – Mechatronics Research (m/f/d)

What You’ll Do
- Develop proof‑of‑concepts for new products and services using expertise in mechatronics, sensing, control, algorithms, actuators, and machine learning for power tools.
- Lead a distributed team across Kaufering (Germany) and Schaan (Liechtenstein), with responsibility for building and expanding the Kaufering team.
- Identify innovation opportunities and define, craft, and implement a mid‑to‑long‑term technology roadmap.
- Manage distributed R&D teams, including setting budgets, timelines, and operational targets.
- Collaborate and align effectively with various business units across the organization.
- Build and maintain a strong external network with academia and industry to support research collaborations.
- Recruit top talent and coach team members to foster their growth and development within the organization.
What You’ll Bring
- Masters in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or equivalent; PhD is an advantage.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in product development and/or engineering research in industry/academia.
- Collaborative mindset, emotional intelligence, capable of coaching, motivating and leading by example.
- Direct line‑management experience is preferred.
- Technical expertise in at least one area: mechatronics solutions, tools design and prototyping, control systems, state estimation, electronics, machine learning.
- Comfortable with nurturing new connections, as well as stakeholder management in a matrix organization.
- Good business acumen and strategic mindset.
- Experience in design and development of power tools is advantageous.
- Excellent project management skills. Familiarity with modern project governance frameworks & tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in spoken and written English; German is a plus.
