The opportunity:
Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) is a newly formed Global Product Group (GPG) within Hitachi Energy, created by combining the GES and PCP teams. PCS aims to become a high-performing, successful, and attractive partner for utilities, IPPs, and integrators by offering an unparalleled package of products, services, and software. Our mission is to drive profitable growth and deliver high-value automation and digital solutions to our customers.
The Head of Sales will be a key leader in the newly formed Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) organization. This position is responsible for driving sales growth, developing and executing sales strategies, and leading the sales team to achieve the company’s growth targets. The Head of Sales will work closely with various departments, including marketing, business development and portfolio, product development, and customer support, to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
This position can be preferably covered in Italy (Milan & Genova), Spain (Madrid & Sevilla), Switzerland (Baden), Dubai or US (Miami & Houston). Other locations to be evaluated as needed.
How you will make an impact
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share for the PCS organization.
- Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, customers, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with product capabilities and customer needs.
- Oversee sales operations, tendering, and other supporting administrative functions to ensure an effective sales process.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, acting as a point of contact for sales-related inquiries and issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant sales policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in the development of new sales offerings and business models to meet evolving customer needs and market trends.
- Support the sales team in promoting and selling service offerings, providing technical expertise and customer insights.
Your background:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in global sales leadership within the power conversion or renewable energy industry, with a proven track record of driving growth in products and systems sales by penetrating fast-changing markets.
- Extensive experience in selling to integrators, developers and end users who utilize renewable energy solutions, with a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges. Proven ability to tailor solutions that drive adoption of power converters.
- Brings network of customers in the power conversion industry.
- Experience driving sales in a global organization with success capturing growth in key markets including but not limited to the US, LAM, EU, ME, APAC, IN and China.
- Proven experience in selling high volume products, along with digital and automation solutions within the power conversion industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing global sales teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of relevant sales policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
