Overview
In this R&D role, you will design and optimize transformer windings and active parts to improve performance and manufacturing methods. You’ll collaborate with global experts and factories to share best practices and implement new concepts. You’ll drive design excellence and support cross-functional teams from design to supply chain. This position offers hands-on technical leadership and opportunities to grow as a specialist or project manager, within a globally connected Transformers organization.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Create conceptual designs for transformer windings to meet defined requirements
- Produce detailed 3D models and perform mechanical verifications with simulations
- Apply Design for Excellence practices (DFA, DFM, FMEA)
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal/external requirements
- Ensure winding-related processes and calculations are state-of-the-art and collaborate with software programmers to test new methods
- Provide technical support to design, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams
- Lead knowledge sharing and coach colleagues on winding topics; maintain an engineering network across HVDC transformer factories
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with work-life experience
- 3+ years in design and engineering
- Domain expertise in power transformers
- Fundamental knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods
- Understanding of electrical, magnetic and thermal phenomena
- Advanced knowledge of 3D CAD software Creo/ProE
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
