Overview
In this role you apply automation and robotics to optimise GIS production lines, driving efficiency, quality and waste reduction. You will work with cross-functional teams to design automated processes, SOPs and robotic solutions that boost productivity. You’ll lead continuous improvement initiatives across Lean and Six Sigma, leveraging digital tools to modernize manufacturing. This is a hands-on role at Hitachi Energy, focused on scalable, smart manufacturing in a complex electrical equipment environment. You will help shape how automation transforms GIS production and its performance.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Analyse GIS production line layouts, workflows and procedures to identify automation potential and efficiency gains
- Design and implement optimized production processes including automation concepts, robotic applications, equipment utilization and material flow
- Conduct time and motion studies, process mapping and value stream analysis to remove bottlenecks
- Develop SOPs and work instructions for GIS assembly and testing, including automated and robot-assisted processes
- Collaborate with industrial engineers, production managers, design engineers, quality and NPI teams
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) leveraging digitalization and automation
- Evaluate and implement new technologies including robotics (cobots), automated systems and smart manufacturing solutions
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Initial professional experience in industrial engineering in manufacturing
- Experience with industrial automation and/or robotics integration (robotic cells, cobots, automated material handling)
- Strong background in process optimization, Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Kaizen, Six Sigma)
- Proficiency with process analysis tools (value stream mapping, time studies, SPC)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with GIS production processes or similar complex electrical equipment manufacturing is highly desirable
