Overview

In this role you will optimize GCB production in Zurich by applying industrial engineering, automation, and digital manufacturing techniques. You will improve assembly, testing, material flow, and workstation concepts within a lean, digital factory. You will lead cross-functional improvements to boost productivity, safety, quality, and delivery while supporting industrialization and new tool adoption. This is a hands-on, impact-focused opportunity in a high-variety, low-volume environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Analyze current GCB production layouts, workflows, testing processes, and material flow to identify efficiency, safety, quality, cost, and lead-time improvements with automation and digitalization in focus
• Design and implement optimized production processes, workstation concepts, automation solutions, and improved material flow for GCB assembly and testing
• Conduct time and motion studies, value stream mapping, layout planning, capacity analysis, and bottleneck assessments to eliminate non-value-added activities
• Develop and standardize work instructions, SOPs, manufacturing docs, and digital shopfloor processes for assembly, testing, and logistics
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies such as automated handling systems, smart tools, digital work instructions, MES-related solutions, and data-driven improvements
• Support industrialization activities, new product introduction, series ramp-ups, CAPEX initiatives, equipment procurement, PFMEA, and tools/testing equipment
• Collaborate with production, testing, engineering, industrialization, quality, supply chain, planning, HSE, project management, and product management teams to ensure robust improvements
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement, Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma improvements, shopfloor optimization, and digital factory initiatives
• Maintain and improve manufacturing master data, production standards, routing information, and KPI-based transparency to support planning and execution
• Contribute to long-term GCB factory development by identifying automation potential, improving ergonomics, safety, and scalable production

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Master’s degree in the specified fields
• Professional experience in industrial/production engineering or manufacturing process improvement is preferred
• Strong understanding of process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methods (Kaizen, Six Sigma), value stream mapping, time studies, and SPC
• Experience in complex assembly environments, high-voltage electrical equipment, or engineering-to-order/high-variety/low-volume production is highly desirable
• Knowledge of workstation design, layout planning, tooling concepts, ergonomics, equipment specification, manufacturing documentation, and problem solving
• Familiarity with SAP, MES, digital work instructions, data analysis tools, or production KPI dashboards is an advantage
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions
• Structured, analytical, hands-on, solution-oriented mindset; ability to manage multiple improvement projects
