Junior Accountant - Full Time (f/m/d)

The position

Your Mission: As a Junior Accountant for all our entities, you will play a crucial role in scaling our Finance team. You will ensure the timely and accurate management of accounting closes, as well as the handling of AR and AP processes. A key focus of your role will be leading the dunning process and driving cash collection to optimize financial health. Using external tools like Spendesk/Moss and DATEV, as well as an internally developed invoicing system “Hive App”, you will ensure streamlined and precise bookkeeping of expenses and revenue.

You will prepare reminders for our merchants and resolve resulting discussions or problems, actively optimizing our cash flow by ensuring timely payments. You will take ownership of managing payment terms for merchants, including handling direct debits and monitoring potential payment defaults with our debt collector. Additionally, you will support the billing team in creating accurate and timely invoices for our merchants, contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounts receivable processes.

Of course, you will also:

1. Collaborate with the whole Finance team during monthly and annual closes, and assist in consolidating financial statements according to German GAAP (HGB).
2. Participate in various automation projects and process improvements, from invoice processing to financial reporting.
3. Work with our auditors to ensure the reliability of our financials.

Your profile

We know – sometimes, you can’t tick every box. We would still love to hear from you if you think you’re a good fit!

1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
2. Language: You have good communication skills and fluency in English. A bit of German doesn’t scare you.
3. Curiosity: You have a high interest in learning how a Finance function works ground up, from receiving, processing and reporting invoices and their financial impacts to various stakeholders. You want to create financial insights to facilitate an effective steering of the company.
4. Task management: You are not afraid to proactively engage with different work streams and team members within our company – balancing requirements of financial compliance, internal teams and overall company goals. A fast-changing environment pushes you to new heights.
5. Experience: You gathered first experiences in AP & AR processes and you have worked with some accounting or ERP systems. Excel or Google Sheets are part of your daily workstack.
6. Not required, but appreciated: Knowledge around Datev or Moss is a plus. An interest in data analytics or SQL will be helpful as well.
