Your tasks
As a member of an international team, reporting into the Head of M&A and Innovation Department, you will be responsible for taking active part in the department's assignments such as:
- Work on internal projects on an ad hoc basis as required, including but not limited to strategic studies and drafting reports and presentations for senior leadership team
- Gather competitor and market intelligence on an ongoing basis, creating updates and insightful analysis when appropriate
- Supporting HOCHTIEF's business with value enhancing competence in investment proposals and business cases including financial valuations
- Conduct financial analysis by researching potential targets in given areas, providing background data and initial valuations to management
- Oversee M&A due diligence process, including banking, legal, technical and commercial documentation and contact with advisors
- Evaluate the conditions and needs for sustainability initiatives / projects (fact and data collection, surveys, etc.)
- Support the continuous development of HOCHTIEF´s sustainability agenda: research emerging information and trends relating to global sustainability initiatives, e.g. reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, renewable and efficiency incentives, ESG Global Ratings and reporting programs, etc.
Your skills
- Degree in business administration with financial and/or accounting background or technical background with financial studies or experience
- MBA or Legal background a plus
- Previous experience, primarily in corporate M&A, M&A advisory, audit, finance or advisory/consulting services
- Robust technical skills (financial, accounting, complex modeling and valuation)
- Experience in analyses of markets, companies and preparation of business plans
- Ability to prepare Board presentations and to analyse documentation
- Fluent in English and German
- Multi-tasker, eager to learn, hands-on, target-oriented, teamwork-oriented
