About the Position

As Vice President Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational activities and ensuring that productivity, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met. In close collaboration with senior leadership, you will contribute to strategic planning, implement best operational practices, and lead the organization toward higher levels of excellence including the requirements of health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability. Your role will be key in shaping the operational direction of the division while ensuring full compliance and strong cross-functional collaboration.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing policies, practices, and plans to enhance products and processes in alignment with divisional goals and growth objectives
- Leading the implementation of new processes to improve quality, productivity, profitability, and sustainability
- Ensuring the execution of division policies that align with the group’s safety strategy and promoting a proactive safety culture
- Evaluating operational risks and leading quality assurance initiatives
- Overseeing and steering HSEQ, Product Stewardship, and Operational Product Management
- Preparing and managing budgets for capital expenditures and operational expenses based on business plans
- Recommending and executing capital improvements, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality project delivery
- Monitoring expenses and budgeting to optimize operational costs and benefits
- Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations affecting business operations
- Managing contracts and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders
- Overseeing workforce planning and manpower management within Operations
- Demonstrating leadership capabilities, mentoring and motivating teams to drive high engagement and performance
- Regularly reporting operational performance and key metrics to the Division President
This position will be located at one of Höganäs\‘ sites in Germany, Belgium or Sweden, depending on the chosen candidate\’s location.
Your Profile
We are looking for a results-oriented, forward-thinking leader with strong industrial operations expertise and a strategic mindset. You hold a degree in Engineering or a related and bring at least 15 years of progressive experience in senior operational roles – ideally within powder manufacturing or a similar industry. You bring deep knowledge of operational excellence methods, including lean approaches, and have a strong strategic background in occupational health and safety, as well as in managing safety initiatives and compliance programs. Your experience spans across core business functions such as HR, finance, supply chain, and IT, enabling you to work effectively in a cross-functional leadership context.
You are fluent in both English and German and possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Your leadership style is characterized by integrity, inclusiveness, and the ability to inspire and empower diverse, multicultural teams. Finally, you are passionate about driving continuous improvement and sustainability at every level of operations.
