We are working with an established technology organisation developing advanced communication systems for global markets. They are looking for an experienced System Architect to join their R&D team and play a key role in the design, development and integration of next-generation communication technologies.
This is a hands-on position combining system architecture, embedded software, hardware integration and proof-of-concept development, working closely with internal engineering teams and external technology partners.
As a System Architect, you will be responsible for designing and prototyping system-level concepts and helping transform them into fully integrated proof-of-concept solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype system-level architectures for advanced communication systems.
- Configure and integrate SoCs, FPGAs and peripherals into complete proof-of-concept systems.
- Develop, test and optimise end-to-end prototypes using both internal and partner technologies.
- Work closely with R&D teams and external partners on system integration and hardware/software co-design.
- Integrate third-party software, SDKs and communication protocols.
- Develop reusable system architectures and reference designs.
- Document system architectures, integration processes and technical solutions.
- Support technical problem-solving across hardware, software and communications interfaces.
About You
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering or a similar discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in product and system development for communication technologies, such as satellite, 5G or Wi-Fi modems.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience working with Linux and/or RTOS environments.
- Practical experience with SoCs, FPGAs and hardware/software co-design.
- Experience integrating third-party software, SDKs and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of Ethernet and 5G/6G technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a hands-on engineering approach.
- Experience working collaboratively within fast-paced R&D environments.
- Very good English skills; basic German would be advantageous.
