Being part of HSBC in Düsseldorf, you’ll help evolve and grow our business as a Vice President (m/f/d) Debt Capital Markets.

What you will do:

  • Play a key role in the origination, structuring and execution of debt capital market transactions, e.g. syndicated corporate bonds, hybrid capital, ESG-bonds, Panda Bonds as well as global private placements, Schuldscheine and US private placements
  • Prepare and supervise client pitches, deal proposals, market and pricing updates in close collaboration with syndicate colleagues in Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai
  • Active involvement in idea generation and pitching process, responsible to win new business and maintain client dialogue and relationships
  • Help training more junior colleagues on the desk
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made demonstrating particularly consideration for the firm’s reputation. This includes responsibility for administrative tasks such as: obtaining all internal approvals in the run-up of a DCM transaction
  • Ongoing optimisation of existing manuals and processes with the aim to increase efficiency within the firm while optimizing the output for Global Borrowers
  • Close collaboration and management of internal stakeholders amongst others: Syndicate, Relationship Management, Leveraged Finance, Strategic Equity Financing, Corporate Finance, Legal

In this role you will

  • Work in a market leading DCM franchise with a dynamic team in a global context
  • Create opportunities for global multinational corporates by understanding issuer needs and using the full spectrum of your DCM toolbox
  • Be able to establish a global network of relationships within the firm
  • Have a wide range of opportunities for development, such as internal and external training
  • Gain leadership experience as you are responsible to manage the more junior colleagues on the desk

You should apply if you have

  • Relevant experience in the corporate debt capital markets area, preferably from an investment bank with an international DCM platform
  • Strong deal execution experience is a pre-requisite and the ability to independently create pitch book materials for client meetings
  • Existing client relationships in Corporate Germany & Austria
  • The ability to manage time, plan, structure, priorities and coordinate activities and resources effectively
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Energetic, highly motivated individual and collaborative trusted team player
  • Fluent German and English
