In December 2023, our Swiss CEO announced a new growth plan for the Swiss Private Banking business. /p pAs part of this Private Bank Republic Switzerland (PBRS) Growth Plan, we'll be investing in the Swiss business over the coming years - alongside continued investment in our people to support long-term career development. The business and its supporting functions are accountable for effective risk management: ensuring risks are understood and that controls are strong, complete and operating effectively. For the Growth Plan to be sustainable, it must be underpinned by a robust control environment. /p pThis is where the Business Risk Control Officer role is key, providing hands-on support to the business to strengthen the risk and control framework, monitor control performance, and help identify, elevate and remediate issues. /p h3What you will do: /h3 pThe Business Risk Control Manager supports PBRS in fulfilling its risk management and internal control responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: /p ul liEnsure management has clear visibility of its control environment /li liSupport the development of risk and control assessments /li liReview the adequacy of action plans and tracking progress to closure /li liReport, record (e.g., in Helios), and elevate incidents, issues, and control deficiencies where needed /li /ul h3In this role you will: /h3 ul liAct as risk and control SME for the business/function and ensure management understanding of risks, controls, ownership and accountability /li liAssist the business to develop Risk and Control Assessments (both for PBRS and PBRS in Guernsey) /li liDevelop and execute control monitoring plans to confirm the continued operation of key controls to their management /li liMonitor specific key risks and key controls /li liReview adequacy of action plans and monitor progress of remediation plan to closure /li liPerform thematic reviews on control points and processes /li liReport issues identified, elevate as appropriate and record in Helios /li liManage incidents (Internal Controls, Trading), including review activities, certification of accounts, finance reporting, and Helios entries /li /ul h3You should apply if you have: /h3 ul liA good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles /li liFamiliarity with the Group's Operational Risk Framework /li liProven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions /li liHighly developed communication and influencing skills /li liAbility to prioritise and work independently under pressure within a team environment /li liKnowledge of the changing regulatory environment /li liA sound knowledge of the Group and the GPB business, including products and services /li libDue to immigration restrictions in Switzerland, we will only be able to consider applications from Swiss or EU citizens or from candidates holding a valid Swiss work permit /b /li /ul h3What you'll get in return: /h3 pWe offer a comprehensive and competitive package of benefits usually covering healthcare, life assurance, pension, and family friendly leaves, as well as many other benefits to support your wellbeing. /p pHSBC operates multiple variable pay plans, to reflect the diverse nature of the businesses, roles and markets in which we operate.
