Occupation type: Recognized training occupation
Type of training: Dual training in industry, regulated by the training ordinance
Duration of training: 3.5 years (may be shortened to 3 years)
Working hours: 36 working hours per week
Learning locations: Training company and vocational school (dual training)

About the company

We are the Heitkamp & Thumann Group: a family-owned company from Germany with production sites in Europe, North America and Asia. As a team, 1,700 employees work together worldwide in 15 medium-sized companies from nine countries. In fact, four companies of the H&T Group are located at the Marsberg site. We develop and produce first-class precision-molded components from metal and plastic ourselves. For example: Cups for well-tried household batteries and battery packaging for state-of-the-art electric vehicles. From the very beginning, we support you in developing your talent. During your apprenticeship or internship, you will actively participate in the day-to-day business, take on responsible tasks and be supervised by experienced trainers and colleagues.

Your duties

As an industrial mechanic…

• you ensure that machines and production facilities are ready for operation.
• You manufacture equipment parts, machine components and assemblies and assemble them into machines and technical systems.
• You then set them up, put them into operation and test their functions.
• Your tasks also include servicing and maintaining the systems.
• You determine the causes of malfunctions, order suitable spare parts or produce them yourself and carry out repairs.
• After completing assembly and testing work, you instruct colleagues or customers in operation and handling.

Your profile

• Interest in metalworking, technology and science
• Diligence (e.g. for the precise, true-to-size production of workpieces)
• Dexterity and eye-hand coordination (e.g. for sawing, milling, filing and grinding metal parts)
• Manual dexterity and technical understanding (e.g. when maintaining machines and production equipment)
• Minimum requirement is a good secondary school leaving certificate
• Good academic performance in mathematics and physics
• fluent German language skills

Your plus at H&T Tool Design

Certified apprenticeship

We offer a three to three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship in a certified training company at a high level and the opportunity to get to know three companies of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group with one apprenticeship.

Encourage and challenge

During your apprenticeship, a trainer and an apprentice mentor will be at your side to answer any questions you may have and provide you with invasive and professional support. We offer you various internal and external training courses to help you develop further. We will provide you with optimal support in preparing for your exams so that you can successfully complete your training.

Fair salary

1st year of training: 980,00 Euro per month, 2nd year of training: 1.029,00 Euro per month, 3rd year of training: 1.101,00 Euro per month, 4th year of training: 1.179,00 Euro per month
