HTWG Konstanz – Logo The Faculty of Business, Culture and Legal Studies, Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, invites applications for a full professorship: Professorship in International Business Administration with a focus on International Organizational Behaviour, Intercultural Management and the Future of Work (f/m/d) Salary Bracket W2 (Reference No. 1-1621) The key responsibilities of this professorship entail bachelor/master-level teaching in the fields of International organizational behaviour Intercultural management Dynamics of the international work environment International and general business administration Other responsibilities include: Cooperation with partner universities/institutions/businesses in Asia Applied research, publications, and third-party funding applications The position holder shall fulfil the official duties of university teachers pursuant to 46 of Baden-Württemberg's State University Act (LHG). Qualified candidates will have an advanced business administration or social science degree and an international professional profile, including work and management experience in Asia.
We also expect a strong commitment to project-based and vocationally oriented teaching, collaboration in the further development of our study programmes, and action to increase internationalization and cooperation with academic, institutional and industry partners in Asia. The professorship requires the teaching of courses in English at bachelor's and master's level in the university's Asian Studies and Management programmes. Active participation in academic administration and governance is expected.
To this end, the person appointed will be expected to acquire an intermediate knowledge of German during the first three years of their tenure. Experience in obtaining and implementing third-party funded projects in the fields of research and knowledge transfer is desirable. The requirements for employment are laid out in detail in 47 of Baden-Württemberg's State University Act (LHG).
In particular, applicants should be aware that 1) as a rule, the teaching load amounts to 18 teaching hours of 45 minutes per week in two 15-week semesters; and 2) applicants must demonstrate five years of previous employment, of which at least three were spent outside academia. Tenured (lifelong) civil service positions are offered after three years without a further application process, provided that the probationary professor continues to fulfil the requirements of civil service law.
