As part of an interdisciplinary project funded by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food, the Photobiophysics Research Group at Humboldt University of Berlin is collaborating with the Foundation of Veterinary Medicine at University Hannover and Minitüb GmbH. The project aims to develop and establish a novel method for eliminating bacteria in preserved boar semen without the use of antibiotics, through photodynamic inactivation. Specifically, this involves assisting with the technical implementation and verification of an illumination tunnel for the continuous production of sample tubes.
- scientific research services in the field of photobiophysics, specifically the photodynamic inactivation of microorganisms as part of the "Podipig" collaborative project.
- photophysical investigations of potential photosensitizers in the specific environments of sperm, seminal plasma, and preservation medium
- definition of design parameters for the planned exposure tunnel, as well as measurement and verification of exposure conditions, including technical implementation
- a completed university degree in physics or biophysics
- experience in the field of time-resolved spectroscopy of triplet processes in the near-infrared (NIR) range
- experience with LabVIEW programming for lab system control
- ability to work independently
- very good knowledge of German or English (at least B2 level), demonstrated through a sample text and during the interview
- experience programming Trinamics stepper motor controllers
- experience working in a microbiology laboratory
- a modern work environment
- a pay scale classification (TV-L)
- high responsibility in different working fields
- flexible working hours (flexitime)
As a family-friendly university, we promote the compatibility of work and family life.
