The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents. This department's mission is to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to address the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. It works on developing cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in specialities.
The mission of the gynaecology service is to ensure the follow-up of women throughout their reproductive life and during menopause. It welcomes women and couples with maximum comfort and safety, respecting privacy and individual values.
The service consists of several specialised consultations. The medical oncogynaecology, surgical oncogynaecology, and surgical senology units jointly manage gynaecological cancers and breast cancers.
The reproductive medicine and gynaecological endocrinology unit organises care for issues related to reproduction, infertility, and menopause.
The perineology unit's mission is the prevention and treatment of genital prolapses ("organ descents") and urinary incontinence.
The Gynaecological-Obstetrical Emergency Unit welcomes patients 24/7 and handles between 18,000 and 20,000 consultations annually for all gynaecological and obstetrical problems.
It has 8 consultation rooms: 3 gynaecology rooms, 4 obstetrical rooms, and 1 room equipped with a colposcope and kits for managing sexual assault cases.
The gynaecology service also provides training for specialist gynaecologist-obstetricians, contributes to medical student education, and participates in continuing medical education for practising doctors.
Thanks to a strong emphasis on research, the service offers women the highest quality of care possible, respecting procedures established at both federal and international levels.
