The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents is tasked with providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and addressing the health issues faced by newborns, children and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. For many years, the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents has continuously developed cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in several medical specialties.
The mission of the gynaecology service is to ensure the care of women throughout their reproductive life and during menopause. It welcomes women and couples with maximum comfort and safety, respecting privacy and individual values.
The service includes all recognised specialisations and advanced training in gynaecology accredited by the Swiss Institute for Medical Training (ISFM) and consists of the gynaecology outpatient clinic units, gynaecological-obstetrical emergency unit, reproductive medicine and gynaecological endocrinology, perineology, surgical onco-gynaecology and surgical senology.
The perineology unit is responsible for the prevention and treatment of genital prolapse and urinary incontinence.
The gynaecology service also provides training for specialist gynaecologist-obstetricians, contributes to the education of medical students and participates in the continuing medical education of practising doctors.
Thanks to a strong emphasis on research, the service offers women the highest quality of care possible, in accordance with procedures established at both federal and international levels.
