The School of Business and Economics invites applications for a
to be filled by 1 October, 2027.
The professorship is a joint appointment by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. The professorship involves leading a research group at the Berlin Research Hub of the Kiel Institute. The professorship is intended to represent the field of international economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (including the Berlin School of Economics) and at the Kiel Institute (including leadership of a research group).
We are looking for an economist with a proven track-record and publications in leading international journals, as well as an excellent international research network. The successful candidate should conduct policy-relevant and cutting-edge empirical or theoretical research with a strong focus on international economicsbroadly defined, including fields such as international trade, international finance, macroeconomics, geoeconomics and security. The candidate should become a faculty member of the Berlin School of Economics. Ideally, the candidate has interest and experience in leading a research group and translating research into policy advice, as well as experience in acquiring third‑party funding. In the area of teaching, the appointee will contribute 2 LVS to one of the faculty’s study programs.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
