Senior Construction Project Manager – Balance of Plant
Location: Hamburg / Hybrid
The Opportunity
An established renewable energy developer is looking for a Construction Project Manager to take responsibility for the Balance of Plant (BoP) delivery of renewable energy projects across Germany.
The position will focus heavily on the infrastructure required to successfully bring projects into operation, coordinating civil works, electrical infrastructure, roads, foundations, cabling, grid interfaces and site construction activities. You will take projects from construction readiness through execution and commissioning, acting as a key interface between engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Balance of Plant delivery across renewable energy construction projects
- Manage civil and electrical BoP packages from tender through construction and handover
- Coordinate roads, foundations, crane areas, cabling, substations and associated site infrastructure
- Manage BoP contractors, subcontractors, engineering partners and specialist suppliers
- Lead tendering, contractor selection and commercial/technical negotiations
- Manage project schedules, budgets, variations and contractual deliverables
- Coordinate interfaces between BoP contractors, OEMs, grid infrastructure and internal engineering teams
- Monitor construction progress, quality and HSE performance on site
- Identify technical and commercial risks and drive solutions during execution
- Manage project stakeholders throughout construction and commissioning
- Ensure successful completion, testing and handover of project infrastructure
Your Background
- Several years of experience delivering renewable energy or energy infrastructure construction projects
- Strong experience with Balance of Plant / BoP packages
- Background in onshore wind, solar PV, BESS or associated electrical/civil infrastructure
- Good understanding of both civil and electrical construction interfaces
- Experience managing EPC/BoP contractors and multiple construction packages
- Comfortable with tenders, contracts, budgets, schedules and change management
- Technical or engineering qualification preferred
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Germany
