A growing German energy infrastructure business developing and delivering major battery storage projects across the country. The company is expanding its construction team to support the delivery of large-scale BESS assets.
The Opportunity
The company is seeking a SCADA Engineer to design and implement SCADA and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for large-scale BESS projects. You will coordinate technical requirements with transmission system operators, contractors and technology suppliers, supporting projects through testing and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement SCADA and EMS systems for major BESS projects.
- Prepare and review technical specifications for control systems and metering infrastructure.
- Coordinate data points, communication protocols and grid protection concepts with transmission system operators.
- Develop metering concepts aligned with grid requirements and the commercial trading strategy.
- Manage technical interfaces with EPC contractors, Battery Management System (BMS) manufacturers and IT/OT teams.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning.
- Help establish standardised SCADA architectures to support a growing project pipeline.
About You
- Degree in electrical engineering, automation, computer science or a related discipline.
- Experience developing or operating SCADA systems within the energy sector.
- Knowledge of relevant communication protocols, including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus and DNP3.
- Understanding of transmission system operator requirements, technical connection rules, grid codes
- Experience with metering systems and MID-compliant metering would be advantageous.
- Analytical, structured and proactive approach to technical work.
- Fluent German and English.
- Willingness to travel within Germany when needed.
