(Senior) DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Documentation and adaptation of the system and application landscape.
• Responsible for the operation of highly available complex cloud native applications.
• Responsible for the evaluation, selection and introduction of new applications for the application lifecycle and the operation of distributed systems.
• Ensuring the operation and maintenance of the applications operated, taking into account additional aspects such as monitoring, logging and security.
• Responsible for establishing the DevOps concept in cross-functional teams.
• Support in adapting the data center operator’s operational processes and establishing DevOps processes in compliance with the framework conditions.
• Management, conception, construction and configuration of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.
• Ensuring fast and smooth deployments across all internal stages and pipelines as well as corresponding software deliveries to external customer data centers.
• Development of standardization and automation of build, test and deployment processes, taking into account the highest quality and strict data protection requirements.
• If necessary, implementation of tools to facilitate deployments.
• Support of the product owner in translating technical customer requirements into technical specifications.
• Management, consulting and support of activities within the framework of the containerization of modern web applications (microservices) and their operation.
• Concept development for the design of the build processes of web content management systems (GSB).
• License management as well as user and rights management.
• Process responsibility for third-level support.

Must-have Requirements

• Completed MINT degree or comparable qualification.
• Alternatively: completed IT/technical training (e.g., IT specialist system integration, IT specialist application development, etc.).
• Professional experience in the specified or comparable field of activity.
• Experience in the design and operation of systems with high availability and high security requirements.
• Experience in operating highly available hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience in implementing continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines as well as in deploying large software applications.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise container platforms.
• Basic knowledge of an object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with microservices architectures and API design.
• Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting tools.
• Basic knowledge in the areas of project management and quality assurance.
• Basic understanding of network infrastructures (e.g., routing, load balancing, DNS, etc.).
• Very good communication skills at work, customer and management levels.
