Unplanned downtime costs Global 2000 companies USD 600 billion a year (Splunk, The Hidden Costs of Downtime). Hyground builds the virtual IT operations team that closes that gap: an agent that investigates production incidents and automates operations work alongside engineering teams, so global enterprises run more reliably and stay up. The agent runs inside the customer's own infrastructure, which is why even the most data-sovereignty-restricted European enterprises can use it. We are an AI-native startup backed by a EUR 3M pre-seed round, and we grew from 5 people in January to 18 today.
The role
We already show up where our buyers are. Our salespeople staff booths at DevOps and SRE conferences, and we speak at industry events from meetups to enterprise IT gatherings. What we do not have is anyone who owns it. The calendar gets assembled case by case, talks depend on whoever finds time to write one, and we publish neither a podcast nor a video series.
You own that whole surface. You decide which of the 10+ conferences a year deserve our money and our people, you get us on stage at at least half of them, you launch and run our conversations series, you host invite-only dinners for IT leaders, and you build a standing relationship with the developers and SREs who will evaluate the product long before they ever talk to sales. In 2027 you design and run our own user events.
You will do all of this yourself. There is no team under you and no agency on retainer, so the job runs from setting a year's event budget to writing name badges the night before.
What you will do
- Decide where Hyground shows up: which conferences, meetups and sponsorships earn a booth, a talk, or nothing at all, then run each one end to end with the team on site. Own the annual budget of EUR 150k.
- Get our engineers and founders on stage. Find the CFPs, shape the abstracts, and hold people to the submission deadline. Target: a speaker slot at at least half of the conferences we attend.
- Launch our conversations series and publish an episode every two weeks: define the format, source and book guests, run the recordings, and keep pushing it forward instead of settling into the same interview every episode.
- Launch our video series and produce it with the engineers who build the product.
- Build an executive community: exclusive, invite-only dinners with 10 to 20 C-level IT leaders each, curated with the sales team, where one in four guests should become an opportunity.
- Build a community of developers and SREs who know us before they need us, in the channels and formats that community already uses.
- Run the rest of field marketing, including technical workshops and regional roundtables that put our engineers in a room with theirs.
- Design and run Hyground user meetups or a user summit: two events in 2027.
- Report on what each of these produced, honestly, including the parts that produced nothing.
What you bring
- 4+ years running events, community, or field marketing in B2B, ideally for a technical audience
- You have run events end to end and owned the budget, not only the logistics
- Credibility with engineers. You do not need to be one, but you have to understand what a developer, DevOps or SRE finds worth their evening, because our audience spots someone faking it immediately
- Comfort deciding without data. For much of this you will have no clean attribution, so you make the call, write down your reasoning, and revisit it when evidence arrives.
- Professional fluency in German (C2 / native) and English, residence in Germany, and willingness to travel across the DACH region several times a month during conference season.
Having produced a podcast or video series before is a plus. If you have not, you will learn it here quickly.
How we work
We work remotely within Germany and meet in person for several days every six weeks. Conference dates are set by other people, so some weeks run heavy on travel and evening events and quieter ones follow them. You have substantial autonomy over what we sponsor and what we skip, and we expect you to defend the calls that cost money.
What we offer
You join a 18-person team working on a problem that will matter more every year, with people who care about what they build. The learning curve is steep, the ownership is real, and scope goes to whoever takes it.
- Direct access to the founders, with short feedback loops and fast decisions.
- Hardware of your choice, Windows, Linux or Mac.
- 30 days of vacation.
- EGYM Wellpass.
Hiring process
- 30-minute get-to-know call.
- Working session (1.5 hours): you walk us through an event, a format, or a community you built.
