About HyLight
HyLight builds and operates autonomous airships for long-range infrastructure monitoring: detecting methane leaks on pipelines and defects on power lines. Backed by Y Combinator, HyLight already flies its product and has signed its first contracts with major energy operators in France. Germany is the next market.
The role
You will be HyLight’s first hire in Germany and will open the market from scratch, working directly with the founders. Your mission:
- Build the first relationships with grid operators (TSOs and DSOs), Stadtwerke, utilities and pipeline operators
- Generate and own your pipeline, from first meeting to signed contract
- Turn early engagements into paid pilots, then into long-term contracts
- Bring market feedback to the product and operations teams
- Lay the foundations of the German entity and of a future local team
Onboarding
You will start with an onboarding of up to 6 months at our base in France, alongside the founders and the operations team, to learn the product, the flights and the sales playbook. Travel and accommodation are covered. You then move back to Germany to launch the market.
What we’re looking for
- 8 to 15 years of B2B sales experience, with a track record of selling to utilities, grid operators or energy infrastructure operators
- Experience selling technology: inspection, monitoring, data, drones, satellite imagery, grid software or predictive maintenance
- You have already launched a market, a product or a sales team in a startup or scale-up
- A hunter mindset: you are comfortable with ambiguity, you open doors and you close deals
- German native or fluent, and fluent English
- French is a plus
