Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager, you lead all aspects of finance at Hypersonica, with a specific focus on automating our financial processes, KPI planning & investor reporting. You’ll build and lead a finance function capable of supporting our next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee finance operations: Ensure excellence across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial planning, and reporting with investor-grade discipline.
• Strategic partner: Work closely with the CEO and board on capital allocation, investment planning, and long‑term financial strategy.
• Governance and transparency: Deliver board-level reporting, audit readiness, and compliance across public and institutional funding programs.
• Enable scale‑up: Lay the groundwork for a finance team structure that can scale with the business.
• Automate: Enable a lean finance org to reduce overhead by using novel AI tools & frameworks.
• Lead financing execution: Drive CAPEX and non‑dilutive funding, building on the financing strategies already developed and taking them through closing and deployment.

Achievements

• Strong financial planning, modeling, and analytical skills – and the ability to connect numbers to strategy
• Experience building and leading a finance function from the ground up in a startup or scale‑up environment or at a tier 1 investment bank/other fast‑paced environment
• Hands‑on and proactive working style, with the willingness to operate across strategy and execution
• Strong stakeholder and partner management skills, both internally (team, board) and externally (financiers, advisors)
• A growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, especially in the context of deep‑tech / industrial ventures
• Proven experience in CAPEX‑heavy, project‑based financing (e.g., defense, manufacturing, or industrial tech projects)
• Ability to structure and close complex financing deals (ideally across grants, debt, and equity instruments)
• Fluent in English and German
