Lead Design Engineer – Lubrication Systems(m/f/d) in Salzbergen

Job Description Summary

Lead engineering design, analysis and product support work on wind turbine cooling systems and accessories and their respective components. In this role, you will deliver engineering designs, execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class subsystem performance for the onshore and offshore wind turbine platforms. The design responsibility reaches from the conceptual design stage through prototyping to the serial implementation and support of the installed fleet.

Job Description Responsibilities include:

• Lead design of cooling system and their respective component which could include main gearbox, converter, generator and tower cooling for large onshore and offshore wind turbines.




• Full ownership and accountability for design, development, testing and certification of appointed sub-system. This includes BoM, drawings, calculation etc.




• Provide design calculation and mechanical/thermal problem solving.




• Drive qualification and testing relative to equipment standards for structural, thermal rejection, vibration and acoustics.




• Lead validation activities for the crucial NPI projects. Ensure sub-system full integrated solution, by analyzing all mechanical and electrical/control interfaces.




• Work cross functional with suppliers, sourcing and manufacturing on the production.




• Create and revise of drawing/specifications/design practices/ certification documents for cooling system.




• Support RCAs on fielded components and improve new production.

Qualifications :

• B.A./M.A. in Mechanical, Structural or Material Engineering, or equivalent.




• Solid expertise in design of cooling systems.




• Solid Expertise on subsystem level thermal analysis for Wind Turbines.




• Good mechanical sense and fundamental base.




• Technical drawing and design interpretation background.




• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.




• Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries.




• Fluent English written and spoken.
