About the Role
Planqc is seeking an Executive Vice President (EVP) of Corporate Development to drive our strategic growth through investment and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, and other corporate initiatives. This senior executive role will work closely with the CEO, executive leadership, and key stakeholders to identify and execute growth opportunities that align with planqc’s long-term vision of advancing quantum computing.
Your Responsibilities:
- Strategic Capital Initiatives: Own the end-to-end fundraising process for our upcoming financing rounds, including investor identification, outreach, and relationship management.
- M&A and Strategic Partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and execute potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures that align with planqc’s long-term growth strategy.
- Corporate Strategy Alignment : Work closely with the C-level team and Board to shape and refine planqc’s overall corporate development strategy, ensuring each initiative supports our quantum computing innovation goals.
- Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a primary liaison with current and prospective investors, fostering clear communication, trust, and alignment on growth objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to assess new market opportunities and ensure corporate development activities align with technology and business roadmaps.
- Due Diligence & Negotiations: Lead financial modeling, valuations, and term sheet negotiations, coordinating internal and external resources to ensure smooth execution of deals and investments.
- Reporting & Compliance: Oversee all corporate development reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Your Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- Extensive Fundraising & Deal Experience: Proven track record of leading successful later-stage funding rounds, as well as structuring and executing M&A deals.
- Quantum Computing or Deep Tech Exposure: Familiarity with the complexities of frontier technology domains, ideally with experience in quantum computing or related fields.
- Robust Network: Existing relationships with venture capitalists, private equity firms, and strategic corporate investors in tech and deep tech.
- Analytical & Financial Acumen: Strong quantitative skills and expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to envision and articulate a high-level growth strategy while staying grounded in day-to-day execution.
- Leadership & Team Building: Experience growing and managing a high-performing corporate development or M&A team, with a knack for mentoring emerging talent.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills in German & English; able to interface effectively with Board members, investors, and internal teams.
