Overview
In this role you support the RSTS Laboratory to perform workplace monitoring and calibrate safety instruments, ensuring compliance with Radiation Safety Regulations at IAEA facilities like Seibersdorf. You contribute to the lab's quality assurance program and support testing of technical systems. You will handle radioactive materials and deliver radiation protection guidance, including training sessions. This position offers the chance to impact safety standards within an international nuclear safety program.

- Remuneration up to 250 per day
- DSA and travel costs provided for duty travel
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Carry out routine and non-routine workplace monitoring and support decommissioning of lab installations
- Support radiation protection during testing of technical and fire alarm systems
- Handle radioactive materials and sealed sources in laboratories
- Maintain and calibrate monitoring instruments
- Control and perform special measurements of alpha-contaminated waste packs before disposal
- Lecture at radiation protection training (RP)
Zentrale Anforderungen
- University degree in Physics, Chemistry or related subjects
- Minimum 5 years of experience in radiation measurements and protection with hands-on laboratory experience
- Experience working under ISO/IEC 17025 quality management requirements
- Excellent oral and written command of English
- Knowledge of other official IAEA languages is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to safety and accuracy
- Ability to work in a cross-functional laboratory environment
