Overview
As Macro Economist at IATA, you will deliver macroeconomic research focused on air transport and its global, regional, and country implications. You will collaborate with IATA’s regional offices and markets to coordinate analysis and publications. You will produce reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, shaping policy and industry strategies. You will integrate sustainability considerations into economic research and contribute to thought leadership in a dynamic, data-driven environment. This role offers cross-functional collaboration and a meaningful impact on aviation’s financial and environmental sustainability.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide macroeconomic research and analysis on global, regional, and country-level developments as they affect air transport
- Coordinate work across geographies, including IATA’s five regional offices and 33 core country markets
- Contribute to request management, align research efforts, and integrate regional inputs into division publications
- Conduct independent research with designated outputs and publications, including cross-functional analyses
- Produce reports and publications, manage stakeholders, and participate in meetings and conferences
- Compile and validate data in collaboration with division and wider IATA colleagues
- Foster a collaborative culture by sharing knowledge to achieve team goals
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Post-graduate degree in Economics, PhD an advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in research and analysis
- Experience in macro-economic research from banking sector or similar is advantageous
- Experience drafting applied analytical publications is advantageous
- Advanced econometrics and statistical analysis skills
- Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent English; other languages advantageous
