This challenge awaits you:
For a few years now, car manufacturers in the EU/Eurasian Customs Union have been required to integrate the statutory emergency call (eCall for short) into the vehicle infrastructure. It is therefore essential to pass the requirements in order to obtain type approval for the respective market. Other countries have taken the existing regulations as a template in order to adapt them (e.g. Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Japan, …). The emergency call will follow in other countries around the world (e.g. China in 2025). In the event of an emergency, the system will automatically send an emergency call to the nearest control center, ultimately saving lives. To ensure correct functioning, it is important to thoroughly test the control unit including all relevant parts.

Your Tasks:

• Familiarization with the various functional principles of the statutory emergency call in compliance with legal requirements
• Operation of the latest laboratory technology for emulating mobile radio parameters
• Testing the eCall both in the laboratory and on vehicles using a coordinated test catalog
• Participation in various test drives within the EU
• (Software) technical commissioning and maintenance of the partly prototypical test setups/vehicles
• Adapting and supplementing the test catalog
• Writing error cases in tickets
• Adjusting error tickets on the test bench or in the vehicle for validation/analysis

Necessary Skills:

• Ongoing studies in computer science or a comparable field of study
• Technical understanding of communication technology (mobile radio, GNSS, …)
• Basic understanding of vehicle networking (e.g. CAN, LIN, FlexRay etc.)
• Good written and spoken German and English skills
