Your Role And Responsibilities
The Solutions Engineering team serves as the primary technical resource and internal advocate for all customers at HashiCorp, an IBM company. Through consultative engagement we identify customers’ challenges and business requirements, leveraging our product expertise to propose solutions that meet their needs and help them realize the full value of the HashiCorp solutions they’ve implemented.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Trusted Advisor to aligned accounts, technical teams, and business stakeholders throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Exhibit strong communication skills through effective presentations, demos, technical engagements, and workshops.
- Understand and guide customers through a value realization journey aligned to their strategic priorities, designing technical and business‑focused solutions.
- Prove business value by demonstrating how HashiCorp solutions solve customers’ problems and drive target outcomes.
- Contribute to customer success activities such as QBRs, cadence calls, office hours, and roadmap sessions.
- Drive expansion within current product lines and promote the adoption of multi‑product integrated solutions.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams—Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering—to ensure success throughout the journey.
- Provide authoritative guidance on DevOps concepts, infrastructure architecture, cloud, IT operations, security, and development technologies.
- Maintain deep technical expertise of the HashiCorp portfolio, the partner ecosystem, and the competitive landscape.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
Experience: 5+ years in a Technical Pre‑Sales or Sales Engineering role, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in DevOps, IT operations, security, cloud, microservices, containers, and scheduling platforms.
- Customer Engagement: Proven experience implementing software products in large, dynamic enterprise companies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills in German and English (both C1), capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Problem‑Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Collaboration: Experience working cross‑functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as needed.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Knowledge of and experience with HashiCorp tools.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps) are a plus.
- Education: Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
