Fantastic new opportunity for a Semiconductor Nanofabrication Engineer to join an exciting company to help to develop the next generation of implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), with the goal of restoring movement, vision and communication for people with disabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and manufacture multi-channel implantable micro-electrode arrays, including layouts, geometries and fabrication processes.
- Develop and optimise microfabrication processes such as sputtering, photolithography, etching and thin-film processing.
- Characterise electrodes using techniques such as impedance spectroscopy and long-term stability testing.
- Analyse results and translate findings into design and process improvements.
- Scale manufacturing from early prototypes to reproducible, production-ready processes.
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in microfabrication and cleanroom environments, ideally including thin films, photolithography, sputtering, RIE and/or wet chemistry.
- Knowledge of MEMS devices and the MEMS fabrication process
- Understanding of how materials and fabrication affect signal quality, durability and biocompatibility.
- Degree or PhD in neuroengineering, microsystems technology, electrical engineering, physics, biomedical engineering or a related field.
- An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset with an interest in taking technology from prototype to scalable production.
