We are supporting a global sensor manufacturer in the search for an experienced Field Application Engineer to join its growing automotive team.
This is a customer-facing engineering role where you’ll act as the technical link between major automotive customers and internal engineering, quality, sales and product teams. You’ll play a key role in developing new business opportunities, supporting product development and helping bring innovative technologies from concept through to production.
The Role
You’ll build strong relationships with customer engineering teams and key decision‑makers, acting as the technical point of contact throughout the product development lifecycle. You’ll translate customer requirements into clear internal specifications, coordinate cross‑functional project activities and provide technical support across development, validation and series production.
You’ll also identify new product and technology opportunities, support VAVE and quotation activities, contribute to quality and validation processes, and provide on‑site technical support when required. A strong understanding of automotive market trends and customer applications will be essential.
About You
We’re looking for an engineer with 3+ years’ experience in engineering, product development or design, ideally within an automotive OEM or Tier 1/Tier 2 environment.
You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, strong knowledge of OEM product development processes and good project management skills. Experience with automotive sensors and/or pedal applications would be advantageous.
Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to work confidently with both technical teams and senior customer stakeholders. You’ll also need to be comfortable travelling domestically and internationally.
German and strong business English are essential.
