ICODOS is developing clean tech plants, including the POSEIDON demonstration plant in Mannheim and a first commercial e-methanol plant planned at the same site.
We are hiring a permanent, full-time Project Engineer for Site Coordination (m/f/d). You will work at the POSEIDON site five days per week and carry what you learn there into the construction of Plant S1. Ideally, you can start by 1 December 2026 to support a structured handover.
Your role
Coordinate contractors and suppliers so that POSEIDON’s remaining construction, installation and commissioning work is completed safely, on schedule and with complete documentation.
What you’ll do
- Lead daily site coordination, maintain the three-week look-ahead plan and site log, and track who is working where and under which permits.
- Coordinate mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation work. Track progress, resolve site interfaces and raise schedule or cost risks early with a proposed solution.
- Apply site safety rules and the permit-to-work system. Coordinate with the host-site operator and check that contractors follow agreed work methods and risk assessments.
- Check installed work against drawings and specifications; close punch-list items; and collect as-built drawings, certificates, test reports, and manuals for acceptance.
- Support pre‑commissioning and commissioning, including walkdowns, pressure and leak tests, flushing, loop checks and function tests, through handover to operations.
- Lead technical discussions with contractors and suppliers, confirm agreements in writing, share weekly site updates, and turn POSEIDON lessons into practical input for Plant S1.
What you’ll bring
- A degree in mechanical, chemical, process or electrical engineering, chemistry or a related field, or a technician qualification with relevant site experience.
- At least three years of hands‑on experience in construction, installation, maintenance or commissioning at industrial or process plants.
- Experience coordinating or supervising contractors across disciplines, and confidence reading P&IDs, isometrics, layouts and electrical drawings.
- Professional German (C1 or higher), spoken and written, plus good working English.
- A hands‑on, detail‑focused approach, sound judgment on safety and quality, and clear communication with contractors and colleagues.
Familiarity with German site‑safety and regulatory practices, such as permits to work and inspections for pressure equipment and explosion protection, is a plus.
What we offer
Choose your equipment and access professional development and training. You’ll work with a collaborative team on POSEIDON and Plant S1.
ICODOS is an equal‑opportunity employer.
