Overview
As Medical Director, you provide medical leadership and strategic direction for clinical development programs. You will lead medical affairs delivery, set standards, and develop the team to advance trials and regulatory alignment. You’ll collaborate across clinical operations, regulatory, and safety functions, interpret trial data, and influence decision-making. This role sits at the core of ICON’s mission to bring new medicines to patients faster, through scientific rigor and cross-functional partnership. You will shape development strategies and build relationships with key opinion leaders to support program goals.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide medical and scientific oversight for clinical trials, ensuring protocols are sound and regulatorily aligned
- Serve as scientific leader or CRD Lead on multidisciplinary project teams
- Collaborate with clinical operations, regulatory, and safety teams to drive program execution
- Review and interpret data from clinical studies and associated analyses
- Write, review, edit, and QC documents including protocols, amendments, reports, narratives, ICFs, manuscripts, and development plans
- Act as Medical Monitor for clinical studies
- Interpret trial data to inform decision-making and guide development strategies
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and external stakeholders
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Extensive medical affairs experience with a track record of building high-performing teams
- MD required (Cardiology, Endocrinology/Diabetes/Obesity, or Internal Medicine) or equivalent
- Significant experience in clinical research and development in pharma/biotech
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, and GCP
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for data interpretation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Willingness to travel ~10%
