Location: Munich, Germany
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £70,000–£75,000 gross per annum
Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Job Overview:
A private family based in Munich, Germany, is looking for an experienced, energetic and highly organised Rota Nanny to care for their four children: two boys aged 3 and 5 and two girls aged 8 and 9. The children are happy, healthy and in good routines.
This is very much a team role alongside the mother, and the nanny would not be expected to have sole responsibility for all four children at the same time. The youngest child attends nursery until 1pm each day and, provided the nanny’s duties have been completed, the family is happy for the nanny to have some free time while he is at nursery.
The children are active and have varied interests. The eldest enjoys horse riding and spends a significant amount of time at the stables. The 8-year-old enjoys a range of after-school activities and being outdoors, while the 5-year-old is particularly sporty and active. The youngest enjoys spending time with his older siblings.
The household also employs a chef, housekeeper and security team. Previous experience working within a busy staffed household would be beneficial but is not essential. Longevity is very important to the family, with previous nannies having remained in their roles for four years and two years respectively. The current nanny would also be happy to speak with interested candidates about the position.
The family travels during most school holidays, both within Europe and further afield. Winter holidays often involve skiing, although the nanny is not required to ski. June and July are particularly busy travel months, when the family would usually travel with two nannies. The children return to school from August.
Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate care and support for the four children as part of a team with the mother.
- Support the children’s established routines, development and day-to-day schedules.
- Organise and accompany the children to age-appropriate activities.
- Support the children’s active lifestyles and outdoor interests.
- Complete all nursery duties apart from cooking and laundry.
- Put away the children’s clean laundry.
- Ensure the children’s bedrooms and areas are kept tidy and organised.
- Drive the children as required and be confident driving in Europe.
- Travel with the family during school holidays, including within Europe and further afield.
- Work collaboratively with the parents, other nanny and household staff.
Ideal Nanny:
- Norland-trained or of equivalent calibre preferred.
- Experienced in caring for multiple children of similar ages.
- Previous rota nanny experience would be beneficial.
- Driver essential and confident driving in Europe.
- EU passport holder preferred.
- Highly organised and able to manage the schedules of four active children.
- Energetic, sporty and happy spending plenty of time outdoors.
- Comfortable working as part of a team alongside a hands-on mother and other household staff.
- Previous experience within a busy staffed household would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Happy and experienced travelling with a family.
- Looking for a long-term position where longevity is valued.
- A flexible and collaborative team player.
Perks of the Role:
- Bedroom with en-suite bathroom provided in the main house.
- Regular European and international travel.
- Opportunity to join a family with a strong record of long-term nanny employment.
- Current nanny available to speak with interested candidates about the role.
