Job description

We are looking for a Marketing Analytics trainee to join our team as part of the Marketing Insights team. As a Trainee in the Marketing Analytics space, you will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and analysing the performance of marketing and its impact on the wider organization. You will have 18 months within idealo to rotate through 5 key business functions that contribute to the performance of our marketing teams and overall business reporting. You will work closely with Data Engineering teams, Marketing, Company Analytics, and Product Analytics to gain various insight into the business operations and understand the intersection between multiple disciplines that contribute to quality marketing insights.

About your new role

• You have an interest in learning how to measure marketing effectiveness, working with input from technical marketing, website development and analytics teams.
• Learn the mechanics of our paid marketing efforts and how data helps us optimize them.
• Provide thorough analysis of marketing campaign performance and their impact on business KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
• Develop and implement marketing dashboards to support data-driven decision making.
• Develop domain knowledge in marketing analytics and contribute to innovative solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Partner with stakeholders within marketing and company analytics to drive cross-functional improvements to existing models and infrastructure. Deliver KPI (Key Performance Indicators) reporting to stakeholders and drive education around data-driven decision making.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 6 – 12 months‘ work experience as a working student in business analytics, preferably in ecommerce businesses and marketing.
• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI, Metabase).
• General understanding of paid marketing in a digital environment.
• Knowledge of Python or comparable skill with R would be a plus.
• Effective communication skills with both business stakeholders and technical colleagues.
• Ability to identify key metrics that measure and drive the long-term health of a business.
