About the role
We're looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer to support hotel development, conversion and opening projects across Germany and Northern Europe. Working across a diverse portfolio, you'll help ensure our hotels meet engineering, safety and operational standards from design through to opening
Your day to day
- Brief design teams on our brand standard requirements for Engineering & Safety Systems design & operational requirements.
- Lead engineering and brand safety reviews across the hotels lifecycles.
- Assess designs, technical submissions, and construction progress against IHG standards.
- Drive the resolution of engineering and safety-related issues.
- Partner with owners, operators, consultants, and project teams across Europe.
- Support hotel openings by ensuring compliance, safety, and operational readiness.
What we need from you
- Degree qualified in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical & Fire Safety Systems / Infrastructure.
- Understanding of the regulatory requirements for all building infrastructure to be designed and installed to comply with local / national codes.
- A minimum of 5 years post graduation experience of working within a Building Services Engineering, Design Consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of the design and operations of HVAC, electrical / mechanical / sanitary systems, fire protection, and life safety systems.
- Experience reviewing technical designs and solving engineering challenges.
- Fluent English essential. German or another European language is a plus.
