About our client
Our client is a global leader in building quantum computers, backed by well-known Venture Capital investors. They provide on-premises quantum computers for supercomputing centres and research labs, offering full access to their hardware. Additionally, they offer cloud-based solutions for their customers. For industrial clients, they deliver quantum advantage through a unique application-specific, co-design approach.
With one of the largest teams of top-tier experts in quantum hardware engineering, they are now seeking a CFO to join their management team and contribute to their ambitious growth trajectory towards an IPO. Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, they also maintain a base in Munich, Germany, and have subsidiaries worldwide. The position can be based either in Helsinki or Munich. What the job involves
- Serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, collaborating closely to drive the company’s financial success
- Develop, oversee, and manage finance and controlling functions both at the headquarter and subsidiary levels
- Lead, structure, and grow a diverse and high-performing team of financial professionals within a dynamic, rapidly growing organization
- Enhance financial models and metrics to provide critical support for management in shaping the company’s strategy and executing action plans
- Deliver accurate and insightful financial information and comprehensive group reporting to guide business performance and strategic decision-making
- Establish and implement robust corporate governance and risk mitigation practices
- Engage in budget planning and forecasting, as well as cash and liquidity management
- Drive and support funding and financing processes
- Take the lead on possible IPO-exit – IPO-readiness, IPO-track story, and execution
- Play a key role in managing investor relations
- Educate and empower leaders and teams across the company on financial matters
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, legal counsels, and other external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and compliance
Who we are looking for
- University degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related disciplines
- Significant experience as a CFO in a technology and hardware manufacturing company, ideally in the deep tech sector, with a solid track record in supporting management in financial planning, forecasting and analysis in a global business setting
- Extensive capital markets expertise with a proven track record in financing and funding operations as well as in preparing and executing IPOs
- Skilled in optimizing financial strategies and instruments for capital-intensive enterprises
- Wide-ranging experience across finance and controlling functions within multinational, publicly listed companies is welcome
- Experience in a company listed in the US with a headquarter outside the US is a benefit
- Previous experience within a growth or start-up environment is seen as a valuable asset
- Proven track record of leading a team through transformation
- Ability to think strategically, see the big picture, and turn plans into action
- Hands-on mentality with strategic approach
- Management skills in terms of the ability to multi-task, prioritize, set, and meet deadlines
- Ability to interface with Board members in a VC-backed company
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in written in English; other languages are a benefit (e.g. German, French)
