Research Assistant for Research on Learning Sciences and Higher Education The Professorship for Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich strives to advance both the fundamental understanding of human cognition and learning and the application of this knowledge in real‑world educational contexts, with a particular focus on higher education.
The group is looking for a
Research Assistant
who will support members of the lab in their research activities, including data collection, data preparation, literature review, and analysis. Currently, we are looking for someone to contribute to a specific project, as outlined in the task description, but we also welcome collaboration beyond this project.
Responsibilities
Support in data collection: prepare and conduct data collection activities such as organising study materials, coordinating sessions with participants, and recording interactions.
Qualitative data analysis of video recordings: analyse segments of spoken language and gestures for non‑literal use of language describing concepts in mathematics.
Qualifications
Solid mathematics knowledge at high‑school level or higher.
Student at ETH or UZH (in any field).
Fluent in English.
Motivated to learn about research methods in educational psychology.
No prior experience with qualitative data analysis or data collection is expected.
