About Us

Impossible Cloud is a fast-growing B2B cloud company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

We have built a cloud object storage solution comparable to AWS S3, purpose-built and optimised for AI and compute workloads.

Our commercial hyper-growth speaks for itself, powered by our channel-first go-to-market strategy.

We are now expanding beyond storage: we are building a high-performance compute platform, offering an end-to-end solution from GPU infrastructure to full GPU platform software stack.

In doing so, we are redefining the cloud ecosystem by bridging the gap between decentralised infrastructure (De PIN), mainstream B2B cloud use cases, and AI applications.

To meet our ambition, we must push distributed systems beyond what people consider possible!

As an experienced (Sr / Staff / Principal) Platform Engineer, you will design and implement the technical architecture and enable developers to deploy services seamlessly on a scalable platform that supports the core components of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, maintain, and optimize Kubernetes clusters to ensure availability, scalability, and reliability.
  • Deploy and maintain essential Kubernetes core services, including ingress, secrets management, and CNI/CSI.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust Kubernetes network, ensuring secure and efficient communication between services.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices within Kubernetes clusters to protect critical infrastructure and applications.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD infrastructure to streamline the deployment.
  • Deploy and maintain large-scale storage and database systems to support business-critical data services.
  • Lead the deployment of new sites, regions, and environments from the ground up, ensuring rapid and reliable availability.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and enhance existing infrastructure through continuous development, monitoring, and iterative improvements.
  • Experience with distributed storage systems and modern distributed database solutions.
  • Experience of deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and deployment tools like Argo CD, Flux, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of modern Dev Ops practices and tools (Git Ops, Infrastructure as Code, etc.).
  • Exposure to designing and maintaining service-defined networks within Kubernetes, e. g., service meshes like Istio.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, network policies, etc.).
  • Proficiency in AWS and GCP cloud platforms, leveraging their services for enhanced scalability and redundancy.
  • Strong skills in Linux environments and shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting, with experience in Golang being a plus.
