Job Description
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with Product Definition Engineers to define hardware product roadmaps and develop Control MCUs for power conversion applications.
- Support customer engagement activities and provide technical support to internal teams, including sales and field application engineers.
- Represent the MCU product line in cross-divisional activities related to Power Control software and hardware, shaping project scope to align with application priorities.
- Develop and implement novel control algorithms .
- Translate theory into simulation and real-time control firmware to create prototypes for Infineon software offerings.
- Support Power Control Evaluation Kits strategy and execution .
- Guide product marketing software teams in defining requirements for Power Conversion Software, including tools and simulation models, and assess their impact on the Microcontroller family.
- Engage with key partners such as tool/model developers and design houses.
- Define and support demos for tradeshows showcasing MCU capabilities.
- Create and execute Power control-specific Application Notes .
- Participate in seminars, tradeshows, workshops, and training sessions .
- Promote the Infineon brand through white papers, technical articles, and patents.
- Collaborate with universities on advanced research projects.
Your Profile
You are passionate about future trends and product innovation, able to build lasting customer relationships, and open to new ideas. You thrive in team environments, appreciate diverse contributions, and are eager to contribute positively to our culture. To succeed, you should have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering ; a PhD in Power Control is a big plus.
- 3-5+ years of experience in Power Control firmware design or application engineering within the semiconductor industry, focusing on microcontrollers and power applications.
- Deep knowledge of microcontrollers, especially real-time peripherals and programming.
- Familiarity with software architecture, development tools, and experience with Infineon microcontrollers is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of power electronics, renewable energy systems, and programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, Plecs, or Simetrix/Simplis.
- Knowledge of SW/HW dependencies in power converters, PCB layout, EMI/EMC, and lab equipment (optional).
- Enthusiasm for innovation, strong motivation, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
